McDonald’s worker ‘close to tears’ as she's forced to handle stack of delivery orders alone in ‘disgusting’ scenes

A MCDONALD’S worker was “close to tears” after being forced to handle a large stack of delivery orders alone.

A video clip taken outside of an Ealing branch on Friday night shows around 15 drivers waiting outside to pick up their orders.

The footage was shared to Twitter by a man who said there was just one “overwhelmed” woman working on the orders.

The man recording the video pans the camera to the inside of the McDonald’s branch, where a huge pile of orders were being compiled on tables.

He can be heard saying: “Look at this, no staff. A multibillion dollar company, can’t afford one person just to stand here.”

They captioned the video on Saturday: “Absolutely disgusting from @McDonaldsUK #Ealing yesterday.

“About 15 drivers outside waiting to pick up their #UberEats orders, and they had one woman alone running back and forth between the kitchen and handing out the orders.

“She was so overwhelmed she was close to tears.”

They added in a follow-up tweet: “It got to a point where she was frozen to the spot not knowing what to do.

“Shameful display of management from a billion dollar company – can't afford to pay £9 an hour for at least one more person to help her.”

Currently, McDonald's restaurants are only open for delivery and drive-thru during the third lockdown.

McDonald's has been contacted for comment.

This follows a “fuming” McDonald's diner sharing a photo of a wall of undelivered food "left to go cold" after Just Eat orders in December.

Helen Bonnewell, 34, and her husband Simon, 40, waited in vain for two hours to collect their takeaway in Bexleyheath, South East London.

She was appalled to discover a sea of orders piled on a trolley – and claims more were being made.

Helen claims McDonald's staff told her "it was normal with Just Eat" as some drivers would cancel or not accept deliveries, so orders would be "left there".

Meanwhile, a fuming delivery driver slammed the ‘worst McDonald’s ever’ for letting piles of Just Eat orders go cold as staff laughed and chatted.

And a McDonald’s drive-thru customer offered to pay for a stranger’s order – but regretted it when she the discovered the bill was £20.
