MANY people love tucking into a McDonald’s breakfast before starting their day – but how many calories are you really consuming?

The fast food chain’s morning menu features wraps, rolls and the ever-popular McMuffins, and calories range from under 200kcal to 612kcal.

So which is the healthiest option to start your day?

If you are watching the waistline, a hash brown is the lowest calorie item at just 127kcal – aside from their 46kcal fruit bags.

Meanwhile, a muffin with jam is 214kcal and cheesy bacon flatbread is 278kcal.

At the other end of the scale, pancakes and sausage and syrup have the most calories at 612kcal.

The NHS recommended daily calorie intake of 2,000 for women and 2,500 for men.
