Demna Gvasalia has been on a football hype at Balenciaga as of late, releasing a puffer coat, jerseys, and its “Soccer” sneaker to name a few inspired pieces. Now, the “Soccer” has appeared in a “Fluo Yellow” colorway, updating the FW20 style in a bold matte neon hue.
Like the pairs before it, the “Soccer” seen above is made entirely from polyurethane which not only makes for a lightweight sneaker (weighing just 220 grams a foot) but it also nods to genuine football boots. More sporting references come in the form of the cleated outsole that’s finished with 13 traction-aiding nodules on each foot, as well as the elasticated rubber tongue and the rounded toe that’s complete with tonal stitching to give it a quilted look.
Balenciaga’s logo appears in black on the lateral side of the tongue, while the “BB” emblem graces the heel tab in black too. Completing the look is more topstitching on the mid and lateral side panels that give the shoe a sporty contoured edge.
The Balenciaga “Soccer” sneaker in “Fluo Yellow” retails for $725 USD and can be purchased on Balenciaga’s website now. Take a closer look at the pair above.
