Fran Parman has spoken out about her battles with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and fibroids.

The 29 year old, who recently sparked a furious debate on where to correctly store ketchup, explained she was diagnosed with the two conditions a few years ago as she spoke in an exclusive chat with OK! Online.

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a condition that affects how the ovaries work. Symptoms can include irregular periods, facial hair and difficulty getting pregnant. Medication and keeping a healthy weight are two things that can help, according to the NHS.

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb. While most women don't get symptoms from the condition, those who do can have heavy or painful periods, tummy pain and lower back pain.

"I found out a few years ago that I have PCOS and fibroids," she told OK!

"It flared up as well when I got so overweight. I think, looking back on it, I think sugar and carbs really aggravated my PCOS and that will cause me also to put on more weight."

Fran, who recently showed off her weight loss as she unveiled her slender waist, went on to explain how she gets her period every other week.

She said: "With being on your period one week and being off another, you're constantly craving chocolate, crisps.

"It is a hard thing. It's painful. It's like shooting pains, stabbing pains. I can't get out of bed sometimes, I feel so heavy.

"Even super tampons, I have to change them once an hour sometimes because I'm that heavy sometimes."

How the stars of TOWIE have transformed since starring on reality TV and their dramatic makeovers

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the ill health of her grandad Frankie before his tragic death and her two conditions didn't help with Fran's mental health throughout the various lockdowns.

To turn her mindset around and become happier within herself, the reality star said she decided to lose weight and be healthier.

"I wasn't happy with myself and I weren't fitting into my clothes as well. It was for my health and my mental state. I just decided to be healthy again," she explained.

"With the first lockdown, it was just really hard. I was just eating because I didn't know what else to do."

She added: "Last time I weighed myself, I had lost two stone. But I went to my mum's for lockdown, so I haven't got any scales and haven't weighed myself. But my clothes are falling off me.

"They're not as tight so I do feel like I've lost more weight."
