Remembering Nikki Grahame: Big Brother star opened up on ‘incredible’ TV experience and Pete Bennett friendship in final interview

Nikki Grahame had opened up on her Big Brother experience and relationship with Pete Bennett in one of her last interviews before her tragic death at the age of 38.

In June 2020 Nikki spoke to TOWIE’s Bobby Norris exclusively in new magazine, opening up on her time in the Big Brother house back in 2006 and her friendship with Pete Bennett.

Opening up on her rise to fame, Nikki replied when asked about her time on the show: “Nothing beats the first time – that was just the most incredible experience.

“I let all my inhibitions go. I was a kid and just went in there and had fun.”

Nikki also praised her Big Brother co-star Imogen Thomas, who has paid a heartbreaking tribute to her in the wake of her death.

“Me and Imogen are really good friends. We went on holiday together last year to New York and Las Vegas. We speak every day and gossip. We’re really close," Nikki said.

Nikki also opened up on her former relationship with Pete Bennett, who visited the TV star in her final weeks and encouraged the public to donate to a Go Fund Me set up to support her amid her devastating battle with anorexia.

“I only realised when I left the house that I’d developed feelings for him, but I was in denial because he was so beyond the realms of what I would ever go for. It was only when I was away from him I realised how much I cared,” she told new.

Nikki added: “He’s a sweet boy and I’ll always care about him.”

Nikki passed away at the age of 38 after a devastating battle with anorexia.

A post shared on a Go Fund Me page set up to raise funds for Nikki to receive private treatment shared the heartbreaking news of her death on Saturday.

It read: "It is with great sadness, we have to let you know that our dear friend Nikki passed away in the early hours of Friday 9th April.

"It breaks our hearts to know that someone who is so precious was taken from us at such a young age. Nikki not only touched the lives of millions of people, but also her friends and family who will miss her immensely.

"We would like to request privacy at this difficult time, while Nikki's friends and family process the sad news.
