Spencer Morgan, 27, has taken to Twitter to open up about the support his dad has received while on a “Covid walk” today. The oldest child of former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan gave his fans an insight into the support they’ve been receiving, apart from an incident where the “two couples” who had been “praising” Piers were labelled “revolting” by a passerby.

The level of public support on the street was actually mind blowing

Posting on Twitter for his 60,300 fans to see, Spencer started his anecdote by relaying the amount of support his dad received while on a walk today.

He wrote: “Wow. Just went on one of them lame covid walks with @piersmorgan – the level of public support on the street was actually mind blowing.

“The social media bubble is fake.

“Team Piers is real. And it’s huge.”

Spencer’s tweet received over 5,000 likes in support.

However, he went on to reveal that four people came under attack after a passerby branded them “revolting” for voicing their support.

Spencer explained that during their “lame Covid walk” today, two couples who were praising Piers’ after his shock exit were attacked by a “woke Karen.”

He continued: “Admittedly one d****** woke Karen did walk past and say ‘you revolting people’ as two couples were praising him haha.”

Spencer supported his dad following his departure from the breakfast show with an Instagram post that read: “Team Piers. Always forever.”

After watching the Oprah and Meghan Markle interview, the media mogul’s son claims that ITV’s Alex Beresford took advantage of the explosive row he had with Piers over his comments regarding Meghan Markle’s mental health.

Tweeting his thoughts, Spencer wrote: “Alex weatherman: always got on with him, can’t hate on a guy for taking such an easy chance to boost his career.”

Spencer had also voiced his opinion that the backlash Piers had been receiving online didn’t “reflect real life.”

Fans of the Morgan’s were quick to comment on Spencer’s earlier tweet.

One agreed saying: “The keyboard warriors know how to pile-on in the digital world, but sane, normal people rule the roost in the real world.”

While another called for him to host his own show: “Gutted he has left @GMB it won’t be the same anymore.

“I think he needs his own breakfast show as he isn’t afraid to say what plenty of us actually think.”

Despite a petition titled Keep Piers Morgan on GMB gained over 35,000 signatures, Piers took to social media to confirm that he will not be returning to the show.

He wrote on Twitter: “I won’t be going back, but thanks to everyone who has signed these petitions.

“Normally, people start petitions to have me fired or deported, so this is a pleasant surprise.”
