Laura Anderson and Dane Bowers planned to marry and have babies before shock split

Newly split couple Laura Anderson and Dane Bowers had revealed their plans “for marriage and babies” before ending their rekindled romance again this week.

Their shock split was announced in an Instagram post as Laura, who appeared on Love Island in 2018, wrote: “Just to let all my beautiful support on here know that unfortunately Dane and I have decided to separate.

“Thank you all for your continued support. Sadly, we're just not right for each other but I do wish him nothing but love.”

Laura, 33, and Dane, 42, reunited after calling time on their relationship first in 2018, when Laura found out Dane had cheated on her, and had been living together in Dubai.

The couple spoke to OK! back in May following their rekindled romance, as they discussed their plans for the future.

“We’re talking about marriage and babies and we’d like to do that soon,” Dane, said at the time. “This is it. This is proper. This is The One.”

When asked about possibly tying the knot, Dane replied: “One hundred per cent. This wasn’t a light decision. We decided we wanted to be together.”

While Laura urged that marriage wasn’t in the near future for them yet, the couple had discussed wanting to start a family.

She said: “There have been a lot of conversations. But marriage and having a big wedding isn’t for right now.”

Dane added: “We’re practising with the baby bit now, though”, as Laura agreed: “We are practising! I think we’ll probably have a baby first, now it’s not illegal to do that here [have children before marriage in Dubai].”

The pair revealed that they became romantically involved again after finding out they were both due to appear on MTV’s Ex on the Beach.

“That brought us back together initially,” Laura said, as she shared that she reached out to Dane first.

“I was like, ‘I’m going to have to meet up with him just to clear the air a little bit.’ We met up and that’s how it started. But then I had to leave and we kept in contact and it just kind of blossomed.

“We decided to be together and we said, ‘We can’t do the show now, because it’s more important to move forward with our lives and have a normal relationship.’”

Dane said: “How we got back together, it’s a bit of a cheesy thing to say, but it is a good love story really. The problem was I messed up in the first place. I let Laura down, absolutely.”

After seeing Laura heartbroken on Love Island, Dane realised he need her back in his life.

He continued: “It was more we saw each other as friends and I was very proud of what she was doing. I had admiration with how she dealt with it.

“I was very embarrassed about how I handled the situation all those years ago and I had to do a bit of grovelling and making up. It’s been a humbling thing and made me realise how much I do really love her.”

The pair soon agreed to live together after their reconciliation in Dubai.

Following the split, Laura shared that she is returning to the UK “as soon as [she] can.”
