Coronation Street star Simon Gregson's car has been written off after a woman drove straight into the parked vehicle – despite the incident only causing 'minor' damage.
The former I'm A Celebrity…. Get Me Out Of Here! contestant, 47, took to Twitter to share his thoughts on car insurance following his much-loved car being written off.
He shared his anger at the car being deemed unfit to drive, he wrote: "So a nice unfortunate lady hit my car today when it was parked up. Very minor damage just a dent and my insurance company wrote it off.
"Wtf is that about? Time to change providers me thinks. Car now being repaired by her insurance so no loss."
The actor, who is best known for playing Steve McDonald in Corrie, even shared with one follower on Twitter, who works for insurance company NFU Mutual, that he had been considering switching insurance providers altogether following the minor accident.
Replying to a comment on his tweet from the NFU Mutual worker, Gregson wrote: "I’ve been told about you guys I do intend to switch to you."
The update comes after Simon recently opened up about his wife Emma Gleave's eleventh miscarriage and the heartbreak the couple have faced in their journey to parenthood.
The couple share three sons – Alfie, 14, Harry, 12, and Henry, six but the Corrie star opened up about the toll the miscarriages had had on the couple.
In an interview on The Likely Dads podcast, Simon said: “We lost 11 along the way. It was horrific. The first one was 21 weeks.
“When Emma lost Georgia, she was 21 weeks, and what had happened was Emma's tubes were twisted, but Georgia stayed alive long enough to untwist the tubes which they said it was amazing how she survived all that and then went.”
