Mary J. Blige’s Hair Makeover: Singer Debuts Blonde Hair & Blunt Bangs — Before & After Pics

Mary J. Blige has a brand new ‘do in time for the holidays. She’s got long blonde hair and bangs, as fans are raving over her gorgeous look.

Mary J. Blige has rocked many hairstyles and colors over the years, and we’re loving her latest hair makeover. She’s experimenting with long yellow-blonde locks and blunt cut bangs in an Instagram photo she shared on Dec. 23, 2020. Mary’s selfie showed a full face of glam makeup, as well as large chunky gold hoop earrings with the edges sticking out against the 49-year-old’s high cheekbones.

It appeared Mary used a filter for the photo, which had a warming glow over it. She had a large gold pendant on a chain around her neck, but what was written on it wasn’t visible due to the nature of the snapshot’s brightness. Mary was wearing an olive colored sweater with cable knit patterns on the side and looked simply stunning.

The “No More Drama” singer wrote in the caption a line from JAY-Z‘s “Hard Knock Life, sharing “When my situation ain’t improving. I’m trying to murda everything movin feel me!!!” One thing she probably wsn’t feeling was the number of fans still cheering her on as “Auntie” in the comments. She’s been called that beloved term for years, and revealed in an Aug. 2020 interview that she really doesn’t like it.

“Why can’t I just be a sister? There are women that are like, way older than me calling me ‘Auntie.’ C’mon,” the R&B legend told Hip Hollywood. “Can I just be your sister? Your friend in your head? The auntie is like, C’mon.” The singer added, “Not if you’re ten years older than me. Please don’t call me auntie. I’ll be your sister.”

Some famous names were loving Mary’s new ‘do. Actress Kerry Washington left a series of fire emojis in the comments, while Tamar Braxton left several pink heart emojis. Other fans gave Mary shout outs to her character Monet on the current Starz spin-off Power Book II: Ghost, writing the queenpin’s name — with some even cheering “Auntie Monet!” — in the comments section. Mary is probably loving all the love Monet is getting, just not with the “auntie” part.
